WW Homestead Dairy wins regional "Dream Big Grow Here" grant

WW Homestead Dairy owners Tom Walleser, Paul Weighner and Tom Weighner have been announced as the Northeast Iowa Region “Dream Big Grow Here” winners. They competed online to receive the most votes of all the northeast Iowa participants in the contest, and then competed in a presentation pitch-off Thursday, January 17, where they were selected as the $5,000 winners.
The dairy plans to use the $5,000 grant to purchase a new ice cream dipping cabinet for their retail location at 850 Rossville Road, Waukon. “Even though we’re not polished professional public speakers, we have learned a lot by being a part of this program and we’re so thankful to all the people who voted for us, and the sponsors and judges.” Walleser stated.
WW Homestead Dairy will advance to compete to win an additional $10,000 in a statewide pitch-off event held during the annual EntreFest! Conference March 7-8 at The Hotel at Kirkwood Center in Cedar Rapids. WW Homestead Dairy will be representing all of northeast Iowa at the statewide competition.
