Zach Geno to receive Eagle Scout award

Zachariah L. Geno, 18, of Lindstrom, MN has earned the highest advancement award the Boy Scouts of America offers to Scouts, the Eagle Scout Award. His Eagle Court of Honor will be held Sunday, March 27 at 1 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, Lindstrom.
A member of Troop 159, Geno is one of approximately five percent of all Boy Scouts who attain the Eagle rank. He is a former member of Troop 41 of Postville.
Each candidate must earn 21 merit badges and successfully complete a community, church, or synagogue-related service project to earn his Eagle. Geno chose to reroute a steep trail and built ladders for erosion control at the new Allemansratt Wilderness Park in Lindstrom.
He has served as Assistant Senior Patrol Leader, Patrol Leader, and received the Order of the Arrow. Geno joins other outstanding American citizens who have become Eagle Scouts, among them former President Gerald R. Ford, Jr., astronaut Neil A. Armstrong, and cinematographer Steven Spielberg.
Geno is active in the Marching Band, Jazz Band, Wind Ensemble, and Knowledge Bowl at Chisago Lakes High School, where he is a senior. He is the son of Larry and Laura Geno of Lindstrom, MN, and grandson of LaVerne Geno of Waukon and Janice Walby Glaim of Lino Lakes, MN.
