Patriot Tour to arrive in Waukon this Thursday; "Scootin' America" comes to town this Friday

Patriot Tour -
The 2015 Patriot Tour motorcycle ride will make its way through Waukon once again this year, as this year's summer-long tour carrying the American flag through the 48 contiguous United States nears completion. The flag will arrive at Waukon Harley-Davidson this Thursday afternoon, September 3 shortly after 1:30 p.m. after being escorted through downtown Waukon by the Waukon Fire Department.
Those wishing to help escort the riders through Waukon are welcome to meet with them at the Waukon Wellness Center parking lot between 1-1:30 p.m. The riders will then proceed down Main Street of Waukon to the stop light intersection, where they will then turn south and head toward Waukon-Harley Davidson to participate in a ceremony that will involve passing the flag on to the next group of riders and a small reception with refreshments.
This year the flag will depart from Waukon Harley-Davidson Friday, September 4 to be carried home to Badger Harley-Davidson in Madison, WI by members of the Waukon and La Crosse, WI HOG Chapters. It is not necessary for a motorcyclist to be a HOG member to accompany the flag. Anyone wishing to accompany the flag to Madison, WI should contact Waukon HOG Chapter Director Steve Trumblee at 608-306-0138 before Friday.

"Scootin' America" -
Waukon Harley-Davidson will also be hosting a "Scootin' America" visit this Friday, September 4 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. "Scootin' America" is a fundraising effort for The American Legion Legacy Scholarship Fund being undertaken by long-time Harley-Davidson enthusiast Adam Sandoval of Florida and his Chihuahua, Scooter.
The two have been touring the 48 contiguous states of the United States on a Harley-Davidson since November of last year, visiting every Harley-Davidson dealership in those states to help raise money for the families of fallen soldiers through that scholarship fund, which helps support higher education efforts of children whose parents lost their lives in the line of military duty. The ride will also set a new world record for most miles in one country, the largest group ride and the longest charity ride in history.
Other riders are free to join Sandoval and Scooter for the day or as long as they would like for a daily contribution to the ride’s charity. Waukon Harley-Davidson will also be collecting donations prior to Sandoval's visit and will be hosting lunch Friday at 11:30 a.m., with free will donation proceeds being give to the Scootin' America effort.
