Waukon boys cross country team finishes second at Crestwood Invitational

The Waukon boys cross country team was just a few individual placewinnings away from a team championship at the Crestwood Invitational Saturday, October 3, finishing second to South Winneshiek by a mere three points in the meet’s final varsity team scoring. The Indians placed all five of their team scoring runners within the meet’s top 22 competitors, but were without the services of senior Isaac Fink, a usual top-five finisher for the Tribe. The Indians were scheduled to wrap up their regular season schedule at the South Winneshiek Invitational Tuesday, October 6 before preparing for the Northeast Iowa Conference Meet Tuesday, October 13 at New Hampton. Waukon will then have its Class 2A State Qualifying Meet Thursday, October 22 at a site yet to be determined.
