The Waukon volleyball team took part in one of its busiest weeks of the season, playing a pair of dual matches before four additional matches in a weekend tournament. The Indians fell in both of those dual battles in three sets, at Class 4A Waverly-Shell Rock Tuesday, September 30 and at home against New Hampton Thursday, October 2. The Tribe netters then competed at the Waterloo Columbus Tournament Saturday, October 4, winning just one of four matches at that event. The Indians finished third in their pool after defeating North Fayette Valley but falling to Marion and Columbus, and then also fell in their consolation bracket match to Waterloo West.
Now holding a 13-11 overall match record, 0-4 in Northeast Iowa Conference (NEIC) play, the Indians were scheduled to play at Crestwood Tuesday, October 7 before competing in the Hudson Tournament Saturday, October 11. The Tribe will then wrap up its regular season schedule at Class 4A fourth-rated Charles City Tuesday, October 14 before hosting the Northeast Iowa Conference Tournament Saturday, October 18. The Indians are also scheduled to host their first-round Class 3A Regional Tournament match against Crestwood Monday, October 27, beginning at 7 p.m.
