Daryl Bolson

 

Daryl Loran Bolson, 66, of Lansing died Saturday, November 15, 2014 at Gundersen Health Systems in La Crosse, WI. Funeral Services were held Friday, November 21 at First Lutheran Church, Decorah. Inurnment will be at a later date in Phelps Cemetery in Decorah.

Daryl was born June 19, 1948 to Ransome and Connie (Hexom) Bolson in Decorah. He was baptized at Big Canoe Lutheran Church by his grandfather and confirmed at Good Shepard Lutheran church in Decorah. He graduated from Decorah High School in 1967 and Luther College in 1972.

Daryl was united in marriage with Christine “Chris” M. Wohlford September 25, 1976. Two children were born to this union, Brett and Anna. In 1983, Daryl moved his family to Lansing to run Lansing Feed Service. After a few years, he purchased the Lansing Feed Service and owned and operated it until October 25, 2014, when he closed the business.

Daryl was a member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church, he was a man of very strong faith. He enjoyed vintage cars and good conversation with anyone he was in contact with. He also enjoyed working and his customers were very important to him. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family.

Daryl is survived by his wife, Christine, of Lansing; his children, Brett Bolson of North Liberty and Anna (Dustin) Darling of Atkins; two grandchildren, Jay and Mason; his mother, Connie (Hexom) Bolson of Decorah; his sister, Cheryl Schroeder of Ottumwa; his brothers, Terry Bolson of Des Moines, Loryl Bolson of Decorah and Joe Bolson of Hesper; his brother- and sister-in-law, Wayne and Margaret Walter of Decorah; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins; and many friends.

Daryl was preceded in death by his father, Ransome; his maternal grandparents, Pastor William and Charlotte Hexom; his paternal grandparents, L.C. and Violet Bolson; his father- and mother-in-law, Lloyd Sr. and Ossie Wohlford; and a brother-in-law, PFC Lloyd Wohlford, Jr.
