Edward P. Hagemeier, 79, of Clinton passed away Thursday, October 30, 2014 at Mercy Medical Center, North Campus, Clinton. Funeral services were held Thursday, November 6 at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes & Crematory. Following services, the body was cremated. Private family burial was in the Pine Grove Cemetery.
Edward Paul Hagemeier was born May 9, 1935 in Waukon, the son of Paul and Esther (Christensen) Hagemeier. He was a 1953 graduate of Postville High School. He also served in the Iowa National Guard for seven years. He married JoAnn Green July 25, 1953 in Waukon. She died August 9, 2009.
Ed was a process control technologist at Lyondell/Equistar for 22 years, retiring in 1998. He was a member of the Clinton Church of Christ and the Clinton Eagles Club. He was a radio control airplane enthusiast and a ham radio operator with the call letters of WØWX.
Ed is survived by his children, Linda (LeRoy) Cook of Gig Harbor, WA, Kevin (Julie) Hagemeier of Folletts, Craig (Chris) Hagemeier of DeKalb, IL, Edith (Kenyon) Wiersema of Fulton, IL, Edwin Hagemeier of Clinton and Mark (Brenda) Hagemeier of Albany, IL; 12 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one brother, David (Deb) Hagemeier of Sioux Falls, SD; and several nieces and nephews.
Ed was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; two sons, Alan and Richard Hagemeier; and his brother, Arthur.
