Angella Troendle

 

Angella “Angie” Troendle, 73, of Waukon died Wednesday, November 19, 2014 at Good Samaritan Center in Waukon. Funeral services were held Monday, November 24 at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Waukon with Fr. Jim Dubert, Fr. Donald Bakewell, Rev. Msgr. Ed Lechtenberg and Deacon Mike Ward officiating. Burial was at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Waukon.

Angella "Angie" Darlene Troendle was born July 10, 1941 in La Crosse, WI, the daughter of Lawrence and Gladys (Gruber) Bakewell. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in New Albin and graduated from New Albin High School in 1959.

June 6, 1964, she married John Troendle at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in New Albin. Angie worked for several area restaurants and for the Model Bakery in Waukon. She also worked as a cook for East Elementary School and for the Waukon High School, retiring in 2004, and she also worked for Schulte Catering. Angie was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church. She enjoyed working in her garden, canning her produce, camping, needle work, painting crafts and spending time with her family.

Survivors include her husband, John, of Waukon; her children, Larry Troendle of Waukon and Linda Hackman of Colorado Springs, CO; four grandchildren, Zachary and Dalon Troendle, and Tyler and Tana Marie Hackman; and a brother, Duane (special friend Leona Peyton) Bakewell of New Albin. She was preceded in death by her parents; and a daughter-in-law, Paula Troendle.
