Carrie was baptized at Frankville Presbyterian Church in Frankville and confirmed at First Presbyterian Church in Waukon. She grew up in Waukon, where she later graduated from Waukon High School. Carrie then took NICC classes in Calmar for various types of training. While in high school, she worked at Dave’s Gus and Tony’s and also worked at the Good Samaritan Center as a dietary aide. After graduating high school, Carrie continued working at Good Sam doing a variety of jobs including being a nursing aide, a medication aide and a physical therapy aide. After working at Good Sam since she was 16, in 2006 Carrie decided to start working at Hartig Drug as a pharmacy technician.
