Hackett, Ferring exchange vows

Danielle Hackett of Harpers Ferry and Caleb Ferring of Waukon were joined in marriage June 21, 2014 at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Waukon with Father James Dubert and Msgr. Ed Lechtenberg presiding.
The bride is the daughter of Becky and the late Brent Hackett of Harpers Ferry. Her grandparents are Don and Trudy Hackett of Marquette and Frank and Sandy McMillin of McGregor. She is a 2010 graduate of Waukon Senior High School and expects to graduate from the University of Iowa in May of 2016 with a degree in Radiation Sciences. She is currently employed by the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics as a part-time phlebotomist and as a youth counselor at James Van Allen Elementary.
The groom is the son of Michael and Linda Ferring of Waukon and the grandson of Bill and Karen Ferring and Verland and Ellen Lenth, all of Waukon. He is a 2010 graduate of Waukon Senior High School and a 2014 graduate of Coe College in Cedar Rapids. He will begin teaching elementary Physical Education in Cedar Rapids second semester of this school year. He is currently employed full time by Corridor Construction in Iowa City.
The bride was given in marriage by her mother, Becky Hackett, and Ron Leas. Maids of Honor were the bride’s sisters, Regan and Haley Hackett; Matron of Honor was Brittney Miller, sister of the bride. Bridesmaids were Callie Ferring, sister of the groom, and Taylor Grangaard, Kirsten Christianson, Dana Jones and Rebecca Rosenthal, all friends of the bride. Her personal attendants were Ashley McGehee and Jill Haugen, friends of the bride. The Flower Girl was Brooke Hackett, cousin of the bride.
The bride wore a white satin dress with a sweetheart neckline and a train. Her veil was made by her mother with beading and crystals. Her bouquet was made up of white and purple roses. She carried her grandmother’s rosary and her father’s wedding band and she wore an ankle bracelet made by her sister.
Bridesmaids wore majestic purple satin dresses with sweetheart necklines. They each carried a bouquet of purple hydrangeas and white stephanotis. They wore matching crystal necklaces and earrings that were gifts from the bride.
The groom’s Best Man was his brother, Colin Ferring. Groomsmen were Matt Ockenfels, Gage Mohs, Matt Snitker, Dylan Ness, Nathan Yelton, Dylan Boyle and Brandon Johnson, all friends of the groom. The Ring Bearer was Braden Morrow, cousin of the groom. Ushers were Mike Miller, brother-in-law of the bride, Daryl Whitney, cousin of the bride, and Matt Howe and Derek Wicks, cousins of the groom.
Altar servers were Alex Hackett and Riley Whitney, cousins of the bride. Lector was Janet Hackett, aunt of the bride. Music was provided by soloist Mackenzie Lyons and organist Lindsey Lund. Programs and bubbles were distributed by Aedan Whitney and Adam Hackett, cousins of the bride. Flower pinner was Rosanne Wicks, aunt and godmother of the groom. Videographer was Mike Lenth, the groom’s uncle.
A reception and dance was held following the ceremony at the Waukon Banquet Center, hosted by Lorie Evans, aunt of the groom, and Chad Hackett, uncle of the bride. Cake cutters were Christine Ferring and Lorie Morrow, aunts of the groom.
The newlyweds currently make their home together in Coralville.
