Word for Word

Genesis 24:56 – … The Lord has made my journey successful…
Life is a journey, each and every day. Sometimes we travel with our feet, moving from place to place; most of the time we travel with our minds and hearts. Often the most exhausting journeys are ones where we may never take a step.
The journey to faith is different for each person, our experiences in life vary from one to another, the roads we choose are our own. There will be time of successes and songs of praise, and then there will be times of breaking points and frustrations. Perhaps you will go on a side trip tomorrow, or maybe you will be on the fast track.
Yet no matter how different each person is, no matter how unique each journey will be, there are some common threads, woven among the many paths of life. One thread is the danger that exists for us all – that danger is the possible loss of our soul, the possibility of choosing a wrong path, of going the wrong direction. The other thread is the journey with the Spirit of God, and the hounding truth of God that never gives up on us. We may be tempted to sell out along the way, but there is no place we can journey where God is not.
Perhaps this is the secret that you can learn during this Lenten season - that God goes with you no matter what. God watches over you whereever you may be. God keeps you in the palm of his hand regardless of your path. May we go forth with this confidence, daily entrusting our lives to God. Amen.
Dear God, thank you for leading me on the journey of life. Keep me safe in that journey and may your presence be always with me. Amen.
