Elementary student artwork to be on display at upcoming spring concerts

Under the direction of art instructor Carlyn Wacker, students at East Elementary School in Waukon and Waterville Elementary School will have their artwork on display at the Sixth Annual Art Show being held in conjunction with each school's annual spring concert, according to the following schedule:
• East Elementary Art Show: Monday, May 4 at 6:30 p.m. in the Waukon High School Cafeteria, prior to the East Elementary Spring Concert at 7 p.m. in the Waukon High School Gymnasium.
• Waterville Elementary Art Show: Tuesday, May 5 at 6:30 p.m. in the Waterville Elementary School Gymnasium, prior to the Waterville Elementary Spring Concert at 7 p.m.
Each student will have one piece in the show which they have made throughout the school year. The show’s theme this year is "Joy and What Makes Us Happy" at East Elementary and "Our World" at Waterville Elementary, which both coincide with the schools' respective concert themes as well. The work will be displayed, gallery-style, before the students’ spring music concerts. Those attending the concerts are invited to come early to casually browse over the students' work prior to making their way into the gym for the concert.

To follow other happenings with the elementary art program in the Allamakee Community School District, view slideshows of artwork and virtual tours of the art rooms, or play interactive art games with students, parents and others are invited to visit Wacker’s website at www.mswacker.weebly.com. Students' artwork can also be viewed on their own Artsonia fan page online at www.artsonia.com.
