Phyllis Breeser

Phyllis M. Breeser, 88, of New Albin passed away Wednesday, July 8, 2015 at her home. Funeral services were held Monday, July 13 at St. Peter’s Church in New Albin, with Rev. William J. Reese officiating. Burial was in St. Peter’s Memorial Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to St. Peter’s Church of New Albin or the New Albin Volunteer Fire Department.
Phyllis was born September 14, 1926 in Houston County, MN to Walter and Hulda (Meiners) Meyer. July 20, 1946, Phyllis married Walter “Walt” Breeser at St. Peter’s Evangelical and Reformed Church in New Albin. Together they raised four children and shared 66 years of marriage before Walter preceded Phyllis in death August 10, 2012. She was a very family-oriented woman and a very dedicated member of her church. In later years, she enjoyed traveling. One of her favorite trips was when she and Walt drove to Alaska to visit their son, Steve, and his family. Phyllis was very active in the local senior citizens group and loved playing cards.
Survivors include three children: Barbara Dickinson of Cashton, WI, Beverly (Tom) Vaughan of Sumner and Galen (Barb) Breeser of Norwalk; nine grandchildren: Eric (Nicole) Dickinson, Nancy (Gregg) Erickson, Cid (Tammy) Breeser, Niki (Matt) Tschirgi, Neil Davis, Luke (Ashley) Davis, and Lance, Chase and Hayes Breeser; 14 great-grandchildren; one daughter-in-law, Marsha Breeser of Stevens Point, WI; two sisters-in-law, Ethel Thomas of New Albin and Joan Meyer of Caledonia, MN; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, Walt, Phyllis was preceded in death by her son, Steven; her son-in-law, Gary Dickinson; three brothers: Warren, Gilman and Loren “Kenny” Meyer; and one sister, Melba Beneke.
