Mary Lewis, 92, of Caledonia, MN died peacefully Tuesday, August 4, 2015 at Caledonia Care and Rehab in Caledonia, MN. A Mass of Christian Burial was held Monday, August 10 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Caledonia, MN, with Father Matt Fasnacht officiating. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery, Caledonia, MN.
Mary was born April 6, 1923 in Caledonia, MN to James and Lena (Schobert) Carroll. Mary graduated from Loretto High School in Caledonia, MN and June 21, 1945 she married Bob Lewis. Bob preceded her in death November 26, 1992.
Mary worked with Bob, side-by-side on their farm, where they raised their family. She was a 4-H leader, and a member of the Homemakers Group and Circle A Saddle Club. Having lost her son, Roger, in the Vietnam War, she was a Gold Star Parent and also a member of the Caledonia American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed traveling with Bob and enjoyed playing cards. She was a member of St. Mary's Church and its Council of Catholic Women.
Mary is survived by four daughters: Helen (George) Hill of Houston, MN, Jean (Karl) Stokman of Eitzen, MN, Beth (Tom) Baxter of Waukon and Barb (Dave) Droivold of Spring Grove, MN; 11 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; a sister, Betty Ferguson of Rochester, MN; and special friends, Don and Fran Gerber of Strasburg, OH.
In addition to her husband, son and parents, she was preceded in death by an infant grandson; two sisters, Dorothy and Lorraine; and three brothers, John, Verle and Bill.
