The Kee football team had its hopes of staying alive for a seventh consecutive season of qualifying for the Eight-Player State Play-Offs brought to a halt Friday, October 16. Untimely injuries this season had put the football Hawks in a position of fighting for their play-off lives with two recent losses to Eight-Player District 4 opponents, and facing District 4’s cream of this season’s crop in undefeated and top-10 rated Central Elkader did the Hawks even fewer favors, as the visiting Warriors handed the host Hawks a 58-15 defeat to officially eliminate Kee from postseason play for the first time in the past seven seasons.
Falling to a 2-6 overall record, 2-4 in Eight-Player District 4, the Hawks will wrap up their 2015 gridiron campaign with a trip to Midland-Wyoming this Friday, October 23. The Eagles will be one of District 4’s State Play-Off qualifying teams, currently holding a 5-3 overall record on the season and a 4-2 mark in District 4 play after a 68-14 victory at Central City this past Friday, October 16.
