Larry Dale Snitker, age 62, passed away peacefully September 17, 2015 surrounded by his children in his Chandler, AZ home. A memorial service was held October 9, 2015 at the One in Christ Church in Cottonwood, AZ.
Larry was born January 16, 1953 in Waukon. He attended Waukon Schools, graduating in 1971. Soon after graduation he headed out west looking for a job building homes in Denver, CO. In 1974, he married Linda Lisson and to this union five children were born.
In 1980, the family moved to Arizona, where Larry started his own business, Sun Mountain Builders, building beautiful custom homes around the Prescott Valley area. In August of 2007, Larry was diagnosed with a very rare kidney disease and he had to start dialysis three times a week in five-hour sessions each. He could no longer build the homes he had once enjoyed constructing.
Larry is survived by his five children: Bryan (Melissa) Snitker, Keri (Chris) Ranniker, Jennifer (Commander) King, Josh (Sharon) Snitker and Nate (Breana) Snitker; 12 grandchildren, Jaidyn, Blake, Mya, Preston, Amare, Cameron, Grant, Isaiah, Nash, Lyla Belle, Celena and Andrea; his mother, Loretta Snitker of Tomah, WI; four sisters: Diane Schmidt, Mary (Mark) Mathie, Judy Whitney and Janelle Burchart; one brother, Paul (Janelle) Snitker; and many nieces and nephews.
Larry was preceded in death by his father, Donald David Snitker; his grandparents, Leonard and Minnie Snitker and Melvin and Thelma Gjefle; and a brother-in-law, Gary Schmidt.
