If ever a three-set loss could provide a sense of pride, the Waukon volleyball team may very well have experienced just that in its first-round regional tournament loss at New Hampton Monday, October 26. The volleyball Indians were swept in three straight sets by the host Chickasaws, 21-25, 18-25 and 11-25, but gave New Hampton a much better fight than in any of the previous matches the two teams squared off in this season.
The Indians wrapped up their 2015 season with a 6-28 overall record, including a 1-5 mark in Northeast Iowa Conference play that placed them sixth in the final seven-team standings. With the win, New Hampton advanced on to play Osage this Thursday, October 29 after the Green Devils also swept Crestwood by scores of 25-14, 25-19 and 25-12 in first-round action.
