Waukon boys basketball team falls to Class 3A top 10-rated NEIC pair

After starting off the 2015-2016 basketball season with a three-game undefeated streak, the Waukon boys basketball team had its fortune reversed in its two games from this past week against a pair of teams considered to be the frontrunners in this season’s Northeast Iowa Conference race and regarded among the high-end teams in their Iowa high school class this season. The Indians first fell at Class 3A ninth-rated Crestwood by a 56-36 final result Tuesday, December 15 before also falling at home by a 69-46 count against Class 3A fourth-rated Waverly-Shell Rock Friday, December 11.
Falling to a 3-2 season record, including a 1-2 start to the Northeast Iowa Conference season, the Indians were scheduled to wrap up their pre-holiday schedule with a non-conference road date at MFL/MarMac originally slated for Thursday, December 17 that has been postponed to Tuesday, December 22. The Indians will then return to hardcourt action January 2 at Clayton Ridge before hosting Decorah January 5.
