Live Healthy Iowa begins in two weeks

Veterans Memorial Hospital is encouraging individuals in area communities to sign up to participate in Live Healthy Iowa for the next 10 weeks, beginning Monday, January 25 and running through April 1. Veterans Memorial Hospital will then be awarding all those in the 10-week challenge with a participation prize at their annual wellness fair Wednesday, May 11.
Live Healthy Iowa offers many wellness advantages for its members including a 10-week long program, a flexible team size, an on-line option with good technical support, plus professional support and encouragement including weekly wellness tips, exercise videos and a wide array of nutritious recipes.
Registration for Live Healthy Iowa is going on now. Teams can be anywhere from two to ten members per team. The program is web-based with a personal tracking page that allows everyone to keep their own results right in front of them at all times. The Live Healthy Iowa website also offers unlimited access to recipes, workouts and other health information at any time.
The cost to participate in Live Healthy Iowa is $20 per person. Teams are encouraged to sign up as soon as possible in order to receive that discount. Each team member will receive a Live Healthy Iowa t-shirt and a free magazine subscription to one of many popular magazines. To get your team signed up, go to www.livehealthyiowa.org and click the sign up button.
For the last four years, Allamakee County won the community participation prize for the number of residents enrolled in the program and hopes that award can be claimed by Allamakee County again this year. Nearly 100 of those members both years were hospital staff who felt the program was very beneficial and well supported by the Iowa Sports Foundation, the sponsors of Live Healthy Iowa.
