The Waukon girls basketball team returned to action following the holiday season facing its busiest week of the winter campaign, scheduled for four games in a span of a week but having the last of those, a Friday, January 8 home game with Charles City postponed due to winter weather to January 19. The Tribe opened its post-holiday schedule with a 59-40 non-conference win at Clayton Ridge Saturday, January 2 before falling at Decorah, 44-41, Tuesday, January 5 but bouncing back with a 63-51 home victory over MFL/MarMac Thursday, January 7.
Improving to a 5-7 season record, including a 2-5 mark in Northeast Iowa Conference play, the Indians will slow their schedule down a bit from their busy post-holiday start. The Tribe was scheduled to host North Fayette Valley Monday, January 11 before playing at New Hampton Friday, January 15 and then making up that January 8 Charles City postponement Tuesday, January 19 before hosting Oelwein Friday, January 22.
