Jeff Kloster

Jeff Kloster, 34, of Overland Park, KS, formerly of Marengo, died Wednesday, January 13, 2016. Funeral services were held Monday, January 18 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Walford, with the Rev. Travis Borkosky officiating. Burial was at Marengo Cemetery.
Jeffrey John Kloster was born March 26, 1981 in Mason City, the son of John and Beth Klenske Kloster. He graduated from Iowa Valley High School with the Class of 1999. He graduated with a BA degree in Mathematics from Central College in Pella in 2003 and graduated from Iowa State University in 2005 with a degree in mechanical engineering.
He made his home in Overland Park, KS, where he was employed with Black and Veach, an engineering consulting firm. He worked six years with the energy department, and recently as marketing manager-major projects.
During his college career, he played trumpet in jazz and symphonic band. He was a member of the Central College golf team and a member of the Iowa State rowing team.
Jeff was passionate about engineering and he proudly served as a member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers. He was also passionate about working with the local community to help the next generation of leaders. He spent much time with the Kansas Rowing Club participants, and served in prominent roles. He enjoyed an occasional game of golf or an outing with his friends. He shouted "Go Cyclones" but tolerated "black and gold" from other family members.
Jeff is survived by his parents, John and Beth Kloster of Marengo; a brother, T.J. (Amber Parizek) of Marengo; a sister, Angela (Emmanuel) Garza of San Antonio, TX; his grandparents, Jim and Ele Klenske of Waukon; and several uncles, aunts and cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Arthur and Thelma Kloster.
