A rise to the top ... Kee boys basketball junior Danny Brennan elevates to the hoop for two of his team-high 23 points in the Hawks’ 68-37 home loss to Houston, MN Thursday, January 21. The Kee boys basketball team put the skids on a five-game non-winning streak in dramatic fashion in splitting its two games played this past week. Mounting a furious fourth-quarter comeback, the Hawks pulled off a 45-42 Upper Iowa Conference victory at Turkey Valley Tuesday, January 19, but were then dealt a 68-37 non-conference blow at home by Houston, MN Thursday, January 21.
The week’s split runs the Hawks’ season record to 3-11 overall, including a 3-7 mark in Upper Iowa Conference (UIC) play. The Hawks were scheduled to make up their postponed January 8 game at Central Elkader Monday, January 25 before playing at Starmont Tuesday, January 26 and then traveling to West Central Friday, January 29. Kee will then play at North Fayette Valley Tuesday, February 2 before playing at Clayton Ridge Friday, February 5.
