Mary Delaney

Mary Delaney, 91, of Waukon died Tuesday, January 26, 2016 at Good Samaritan Center in Waukon. Funeral services were held Saturday, January 30 at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Waukon, with Rev. Msgr. Cletus Hawes, Fr. Donald Hawes and Deacon Mike Ward officiating. Burial was at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Waukon.
Mary Delaney was born January 14, 1925 in rural Harpers Ferry, the daughter of Edward and Nellie (Manning) Revoir. She was baptized and confirmed at Immaculate Conception Wexford Catholic Church in rural Lansing and graduated from Harpers Ferry High School in 1943.
August 29, 1946, she married Lester Delaney at Immaculate Conception Wexford Catholic Church. Mary was a bookkeeper for Farm Service and JC Penney, both in Waukon. She and Lester owned and operated the Dari-O in Waukon for three years.
Mary was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, where she served on the parish council and was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also enjoyed playing cards, reading, knitting and working crossword puzzles.
Survivors include her husband, Lester Delaney of Waukon; two daughters, Mary Kay Martin and Karen (Perry) Norton, both of Waukon; three grandchildren, Michele (Mike Conway) Martin, Brian Norton and Nikki (Luke) Greazel; five great-grandchildren: Mike and Jordyn Burroughs, Anna Norton, and Rylie and Tyler Greazel. She was preceded in death by her parents; an infant son, Ralph Delaney; a son-in-law, Harlan Martin; an infant granddaughter, Christine Norton; two sisters, Catherine Hennessy and Marquerite Plein; and a brother, Francis Revoir.
Casketbearers were Bill Hennessy, Brian Norton, Mike Burroughs, Mark Plein, Leo Folsom, Luke Greazel and Mike Conway.
