Waukon basketball girls suffer pair of NEIC losses vs. Crestwood and W-SR

The Waukon girls basketball team battled through a winless week, experiencing losses on each end of the spectrum in its two games. The basketball Tribe was dealt a heartbreaking, 51-48 loss at the final buzzer Tuesday, January 26 at Crestwood before falling to Class 4A 11th-rated and Northeast Iowa Conference-undefeated Waverly-Shell Rock by a 57-27 final result at home Friday, January 29. The winless week leaves the Indians at a season record of 8-10, including a 4-6 mark in Northeast Iowa Conference play. The Indians were scheduled to play at Prairie du Chien, WI Tuesday, February 2 - but has now had that game postponed to an unknown date as of this printing due to Tuesday’s snowstorm. The basketball Lady Indians will next travel to Charles City Friday, February 5 before wrapping up their regular season Tuesday, February 9 at home against Decorah. The Indians will then open Class 3A postseason tournament play at home Saturday, February 13 against Oelwein.
