The Waukon boys basketball team faced a difficult week with the top two teams from the Northeast Iowa Conference on its schedule this past week, but was able to work a split of those two contests to stay even overall on the season and just ahead of that average pace in Northeast Iowa Conference play. That split began with a 56-52 home triumph over Crestwood Tuesday, January 26 before playing out to a 74-60 loss at Waverly-Shell Rock Friday, January 29. The split recorded by the Indians kept their overall season record even at 8-8, including a 5-4 mark in Northeast Iowa Conference play. The Tribe will host Charles City Friday, February 5 before wrapping up its regular season with a busy final week, beginning with a final home game Monday, February 8 against South Winneshiek before playing at Decorah Tuesday, February 9 and then at New Hampton Friday, February 12.
