Waukon boys basketball team battles back from slow start but comes up just shy in 54-52 home loss to Charles City

The Waukon boys basketball team had just one game on its schedule this past week, hosting Charles City Friday, February 5. Having already battled the Comets to a close victory less than a month ago, this game would prove to be even closer, resulting in a 54-52 Indian defeat that saw its share of difficulties for the hosting Indians.
The loss drops the Indians’ overall season record to 8-9, evening up its Northeast Iowa Conference record at 5-5. The Tribe was scheduled to wrap up its regular season with a busy final week, beginning with a final home game Monday, February 8 against South Winneshiek before playing at Decorah Tuesday, February 9 and then at New Hampton Friday, February 12. The Indians will then begin postseason tournament play in the Class 2A field at home Monday, February 15.
