Waukon girls basketball team gets back on winning track with 56-44 win at Charles City

The Waukon girls basketball team ended up with just one game on its schedule this past week, having a Tuesday, February 2 non-conference road game at Prairie du Chien, WI canceled due to winter weather and removed from its schedule as the regular season winds down. The game the Indians did play saw them post a 56-44 victory at Charles City Friday, February 5, using a strong inside presence and late free throw perfection to secure the Northeast Iowa Conference victory over the 1-15 host Comets.
The Indians now have a season record of 9-10, including a 5-6 mark in Northeast Iowa Conference play. The Indians were scheduled to wrap up their regular season Tuesday, February 9 at home against Decorah before opening Class 3A postseason tournament play at home this Saturday, February 13 against Oelwein.
