Delores Rober

Delores Marie Rober, 74, of rural Dorchester passed away Friday, March 18, 2016 at Mayo Clinic Health System in LaCrosse, WI. Memorial services will be held at noon Wednesday, March 23 at St. Luke’s United Church of Christ, Eitzen, MN. Pastor Michael McCann will officiate. Burial will follow for Delores and her husband, Ronald Rober, in the church cemetery. A visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of service Wednesday at the church.
Delores was born July 15, 1941 to Ervin A. and Evelyn (Kleppe) Johnson at their home in rural Ossian. Delores was baptized and confirmed at First Lutheran Church in rural Ossian. She attended country school at Dover No 8. Delores graduated from North Fayette High School, West Union in 1959. After graduation, she worked in the office at the Fayette Co. Union Newspaper.
June 5, 1960, Delores married Ronald Rober at the First Lutheran Church, rural Ossian, and they were married for 54 years. Together they had four children, Gary, Denise and the twins, Darlene and Daryl. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and housewife. Together with her husband, they farmed on Golden Ridge until 2005 when they retired.
Delores was an active member of St. Luke’s United Church of Christ in Eitzen, MN. She was involved with Women’s Fellowship and Secret Sisters. Delores enjoyed mowing the lawn, doing yard work, and gardening.
Survivors include her four children: Gary Rober of Dorchester, Denise (Richard) Janechek of Cresco, Darlene (Bob) Blong of Owatonna, MN and Daryl (Jan) Rober of Asbury; nine grandchildren, Donald, Brian, Michelle and DeAnn Janechek, Larissa and Mikayla Blong, and Nick, Alaina and Emily Rober; one brother-in law, Norlin (Audrey) Rober of Marshalltown; one nephew, Paul Rober of Marshalltown; and one niece, Aline Rober of Maynard, MA. Delores was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald, in January of 2015, and by her parents in February of 1998.
