Kenneth Meyer

Kenneth C. Meyer, age 55, of Greensburg, IN, formerly of Waukon, died unexpectedly Monday, April 18, 2016 at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis, IN following a brief illness. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 29 at First Presbyterian Church in Waukon. Visitation will be one hour prior to service and a celebration of life will follow the service in the fellowship hall.

Kenneth was born in Waukon December 3, 1960 to Marlend and Sylvia (Macauley) Meyer. He spent his younger years in northeast Iowa and graduated from Waukon High School in 1979. He was a Veteran of the United States Air Force and served his country from 1979-1982.

After leaving the Air Force, he worked various jobs in the tri-state area, including with the Caledonia, MN School District and University of Wisconsin -La Crosse.  In 2004 he moved to Greensburg, IN to work for his father-in-law at Foster Trucking and continued there until 2008. At that time he went to work at HONDA Manufacturing and continued there until the time of his death. In September 2015, he also began working for A&A Acres, where he loved his new job and spending time with the Alverson family.

Survivors include his mother, Sylvia Macauley of Waukon; two children: Kari (Dan) Dembowski and their children, Andreia, Brianna and Madison of Omaha, NE, and Jared Meyer of Council Bluffs; his step-children, Angela Foster-Waterman and Brady Foster of Elgin; his siblings: Robert (Gail) Meyer of New Albin, Ron (Linda) Meyer of Calmar, and Brenda (Tim) Timmerman and Jody Meyer of Waukon; his former spouse, Casey Meyer of Elgin; his in-laws, Sally and Larry Foster of Greensburg, IN; many nieces and nephews; and his beloved animals, Snickers and Blue. He was preceded in death by an infant son, Jeremy; infant brother, Rick; his father, Marlend; his step-mother, Audrey; and a nephew, Shane Timmerman.
