Michael Whalen and Emily Bohr exchange vows June 4
Michael and Emily Whalen
Michael Ryan Whalen and Emily Margaret Bohr were married June 4, 2016 at St. Francis De Sales in Ossian.
The bride is the daughter of Darryl and Irene Bohr of Ossian and is a graduate of South Winneshiek High School. She earned an Office Technology with Medical Emphasis Diploma from NICC and is employed as an optician with Shopko Optical in Mason City.
The groom is the son of Tom and Laurie Whalen of Dawsonville, GA and is a graduate of Dawson County High School in Dawsonville, GA. He earned a Business Specialist AAS and Business Administration AS Degree from NICC.
The bride was given away by her father, Darryl Bohr. Erica Bohr was the Maid of Honor. Bridesmaids included the bride’s sisters, Elizabeth Elsbernd and Evelyn Bohr, and her cousin, Cassie Michel. The flower girl was Jolee Brummond.
Brett Whalen was the Best Man. Groomsmen included the groom’s brothers, Jeremy Whalen and Will Whalen, and his cousin, Devin Ryan. Kixx Ryan was the ring bearer. Ushers included Zach Brummond and Brandon Oelmann.
The wedding reception was held at the Waukon Banquet Center. Hosts and hostesses were Danny and Linda Ryan as well as Mike and Mary Brummond. Guest book attendants were Dustin Oelmann and Alyssa Oelmann. Pat and Karen Whalen were gift carriers and Becky Oelmann and Alyssa Oelmann were cake cutters.
The couple will reside in Garner.
