The Waukon baseball team put together its best week of baseball so far this season, splitting a four-game schedule and picking up its first Northeast Iowa Conference (NEIC) win of the season. The Indians opened the week with opposite fortune in a home NEIC doubleheader with Charles City, falling to the Comets by scores of 8-5 in eight innings and 6-4 Tuesday, June 7, but reversed that result in their final two games of the week by posting a 9-4 non-conference win at Turkey Valley Wednesday, June 8 and an 8-3 NEIC triumph at home over Decorah Friday, June 10.

Now holding a 3-6 season record, 1-4 in the Northeast Iowa Conference, the Indians were next slated for consecutive road dates at Oelwein Monday, June 13, at Osage Tuesday, June 14 and at New Hampton Wednesday, June 15 before also traveling to Crestwood Friday, June 17. The baseball Tribe will then host Waverly-Shell Rock Monday, June 20 for a doubleheader - half of which is a make-up game from a May 31 rain-out, before also making up a May 27 rain-out at home with Clayton Ridge Tuesday, June 21 and then playing at Charles City Friday, June 24 and hosting its annual Jeff Houg Tournament Saturday, June 25.
