Kee baseball team continues UIC roll, wins five of busy seven-game slate this week

The Kee baseball team played through a busy, seven-game schedule this past week, maintaining its supremacy in Upper Iowa Conference (UIC) play before winning just one of three contests during the weekend. The Hawks rolled over a winless Postville team, 14-0 and 18-1, in mercy-rule wins Monday, June 20 before also handling Turkey Valley in UIC play, 10-1 and 5-1, Thursday, June 23. The Hawks were dealt their first loss of the week, 13-10, at Class 1A eighth-rated Coon Rapids-Bayard Friday, June 24 before splitting two games at Glidden Ralston Saturday, June 25, including a 4-0 loss to Osceola-Clarke and a 6-5 win over Glidden-Ralston.

Playing to a 20-10 overall record and holding a 14-0 mark in Upper Iowa Conference (UIC) play, the Hawks were slated to play doubleheaders at North Fayette Valley Monday, June 27 and at Crestwood Thursday, June 30 before hosting Denver Friday, July 1. The Hawks will then play Janesville at Upper Iowa University in Fayette Tuesday, July 5 before playing at Riceville Thursday, July 7.

Kee’s postseason tournament journey is scheduled to begin with Class 1A district tournament play Tuesday, July 12. Further details of that postseason journey will be published as they become available.
