Andrew M. Chase, 20, of Lansing passed away in his sleep at his home in Lansing Friday, July 1, 2016. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 6, 2016 at St. Pius Catholic Church (Cherry Mound), rural Harpers Ferry. Rev. John Moser will be the celebrant.

Visitation will be held from 3-7 p.m. Tuesday, July 5 at Thornburg-Grau Funeral Home in Lansing and one hour before services at the church Wednesday. Interment will be held in the church cemetery following the mass.

Andrew Mark Chase was born March 13, 1996 to Steve and Marilyn (Delaney) Chase. He joined a brother, Adam, and two sisters, Amanda and Adriana. Andrew was baptized at St. Pius Catholic Church (Cherry Mound) and confirmed at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church (Wexford). He attended Waterville Elementary School before his family moved to Lansing and he graduated from Kee High School in 2014.

Andrew spent a year working at Lansing Housing Products after graduating high school. He made the decision to further his education at NICC in Calmar and made the Dean’s List in his first year in the computer specialist technology field.  He had planned to start his second year in August and was considering a career in teaching. He was currently babysitting his nephews, Bradyn and Ryan, and working at the Main Channel Grill and Lodging in Lansing.

Andrew never had a bad word to say about anyone.  He spent most of his free time hanging with his many friends, gaming, boating and playing darts, pool and cards. Some of his friends' special memories will be his quick wit, leaving empty wrappers in their cars, and drinking their pops.

Andrew is survived by his parents, Steve and Marilyn of Lansing; his siblings, Adam and Danielle (Burroughs) Chase of Harpers Ferry, Amanda Chase of Lansing and Adriana (Evan) Baumler of Ault, CO; two nephews, Bradyn and Ryan Chase; one niece, Jaden Baumler; his grandparents, Carol Chase of Farmersburg and Mark and Marge Delaney of Harpers Ferry; many aunts, uncles and cousins; and his special “no-legged” Lab, Scooby.

Andrew was preceded in death by his grandfather and sports buddy, James Chase; and his card playing buddy, Grandma T.

He died too young, too soon and will be dearly missed by his heartbroken family and friends.

Thornburg-Grau Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Lansing is assisting the family with the arrangements.
