World-renown polka entertainer "Mollie B" performs at Good Samaritan Society-Waukon ...

Well-known polka music entertainer "Mollie B" made an appearance at the Good Samaritan Society-Waukon with the Skyline Polka dancers in May, and it proved to be an enjoyable experience for the residents and other area fans of Mollie B, including resident Betty Christensen, who is pictured above in the inset photo with Mollie B. Good Samaritan Society-Waukon is happy to report that Mollie B is scheduled to return for another performance next year, May 18, 2017, and invites everyone to mark that date on their calendar.

Growing up in Spring Grove, MN as the daughter of Jim Busta, Mollie Busta began playing music at a very young age, hitting the stage with her father's Jim Busta Band at the age of three and chording on the keyboard with the Jim Busta Band by the time she was eight years old. Mollie B continued to work on developing her music talent throughout her younger years before attending Luther College in Decorah, from where she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music (trumpet and voice). She then received a Master of Arts and Instruction degree from St. Mary’s University in Minnesota. Prior to her more recent celebrity status, Mollie B performed many roles in musicals at Spring Grove's Ye Olde Opera House, where she says her favorite role was Maria in "Sound of Music."

While also still performing with the Jim Busta Band, Mollie B now performs with her own band, Squeezbox, along with other bands. She has also became the host and co-producer of her own television show "Mollie B. Polka Party," which airs on RFD-TV Wednesdays at 6:30 p.m. ET and Sundays at 10 p.m. ET. Submitted photos.
