Noninsured Crop Disaster Assistance Program (NAP)

Producers are urged to consider risk protection options of NAP
NAP is for crops that are ineligible for federal crop insurance.  The options available provide greater coverage for losses when natural disasters affect crops.
Landowners, tenants or sharecroppers who are entitled to an ownership share of a crop or crops and who share in the risk of producing eligible crops can obtain NAP coverage.
FSA has developed an online tool at www.fsa.usda.gov/nap which allows producers to explore the premium cost associated with higher levels of coverage.
NAP coverage:
• 55 percent of average market price
• Crop losses that exceed 50 percent of expected production
• Organics and farmer market crops covered
• Producers may purchase higher levels:
- Up to 65 percent of expected production
- 100 percent of average market price
Protections:
• Damaging weather
- Drought, freeze, hail, excessive moisture or wind
• Adverse natural occurrences
- Flood
• Related events
- Excessive heat
- Plant diseases
- Insect infestations
