Waukon girls cross country team places sixth at home invitational


Waukon High School seniors Erika Johnson (left photo) and Lizabeth Waters (right photo) represented half of the Indian senior girls running in the final home meet of their high school cross country careers at the Waukon Invitational Tuesday, September 20, joining fellow seniors Lanci Bulman and Grace Blocker. Johnson wrapped up the Indian varsity team scoring with her 41st-place scored finish, 42nd overall, in a time of 24:57 and Waters completed the Indian varsity overall effort with her 60th-place finish in 30:46. The Waukon girls cross country team hosted its home invitational Tuesday, September 20, finishing just beyond the middle of the nine-team scoring field. The Lady Indians tallied 149 team points to finish in sixth place.

The Indians will now prepare for the Crestwood Invitational scheduled for this Saturday, October 1. The distance Tribe will then prepare to compete at the South Winneshiek Invitational Tuesday, October 4.
