Audrey Ranzenberger

Audrey R. Ranzenberger, 78, passed on into the arms of her Savior Tuesday, December 13, 2016 from heart failure. Funeral services were held Monday, December 19 at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Caledonia, MN, with Rev. Jon Wolff officiating. Burial followed in Evergreen Cemetery.

Audrey was born June 27, 1938 in rural Caledonia, MN to Edgar and Margaret (Olson) Senn. She attended a country school for seven years and later graduated from Caledonia Public Schools. September 24, 1955, Audrey married Darold “Buck” Ranzenberger. Together they raised five children, Cindy (Barry) Zenke of Nodine, MN, Larry (Janine?) Ranzenberger of Reedsburg, WI, Ken (Jennifer) Ranzenberger of Houston, MN, Terry (Nancy) Ranzenberger of Caledonia, MN and Penny (Jeff) Sweeney of Waukon.

A large family, a wide circle of friends, and community involvement were Audrey’s delight. She had a gift for hosting and entertaining. Audrey always had a pan of bars, cake or cookies to share.  Audrey’s activities were vast, but she was especially fond of playing cards and being involved in the Eitzen Senior Citizens’ Club and the Red Hatters.

Audrey was a true servant of God. She faithfully served her family as a wife, a mother, a dear grandmother, and a supportive sister and special aunt to many nieces and nephews. Audrey’s unwavering faith in God, and the love and prayers of family and friends, carried her joyfully through her final months of life on earth.

Audrey is survived by her children and their spouses; her grandchildren, Jamie Moenck, Joe (Julie) Moenck, Brandon Zenke, Ashley (Nathan) Zenke, Jaci Ranzenberger, Jessi (Mike) Birkebell, Jed (Diane) Ranzenberger, Kelly (Al) Foegen, Ben (Jenny) Ranzenberger, Matt (Ashley) Ranzenberger, Laura (Aaron) Ranzenberger, Kevin Ranzenberger, Jodi (Dustin) Egeland, Jeffrey Sweeney and Carley Sweeney; her great-grandchildren, Austin (Brianna), Kyler (Holly), Aiden, Sydney, Zack, Madelyn, Owen, Eli, Kaylee, Ryland, Reid, Parker, Monty and Hudson Buck; her great-great-grandchild, Brantley; her sister, Ardyce (Bob) Esch; her brother-in-law, Lenny (Joyce) Ranzenberger; and her sister-in-law, Wanda Merzenich.

Audrey was preceded in death by her husband, Buck; her daughter-in-law, Janine Ranzenberger; her father and mother, Edgar and Margaret Senn; her sisters, Evelyn Besse and Marion Stallings; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Leonard and Olga Ranzenberger; and her brothers-in-law, Dale Besse, John Stallings and Dewdrop Merzenich.
