Robert (Bobby) Ryan

Robert (Bobby) Forrest Ryan, 54, of Waukon passed away Monday, December 12, 2016 peacefully in his sleep at his home in rural Waukon.  A celebration of his life for family and friends was held Sunday, December 18 at Martin Funeral Home in Waukon.

Bobby was born in Waukon June 7, 1962, the son of James Forrest Ryan and Jean (Hammel) Smock. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Waukon and graduated from Waukon High School in 1980.

Bobby owned and operated Bobby Ryan Construction for more than 20 years before previously working at Northeast Iowa Sales Commission and Interstate Producers. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, team roping on his favorite horse Hammer, spending time with family and friends, watching the Hawkeyes and Packers, and most of all enjoyed taking care of his livestock with his Uncle Pat.

Bobby is survived by his three children, Jessica (Blair) Everman of Waukon and Austin Ryan of North Liberty, both with former spouse Beth Bunge, and Tate Ryan of Waukon, with former spouse M’Liss Burrier; two grandchildren, Rosalie and Weston Everman; his mother, Jean (Bruce Bearwald) Smock of Brownsville, MN; three brothers: Randy (Debra) Ryan of Ankeny, Greg (Kristy) Ryan of Marble Falls, TX and Gary (Michelle) Ryan of Eden Prairie, MN; three sisters: Deb (Mike Quam) Ryan of Waukon, Donna (Ray) Mahr of Waukon and Diane (James) Sommer of Geneseo, IL; and his step-mother, Mary Ann Ryan of Waukon. He was preceded in death by his father, James.
