Waukon girls basketball team falls in back-to-back home contests

The Waukon girls basketball team wrapped up the 2016 portion of its schedule with back-to-back losses at home on consecutive nights. The basketball Indians surrendered a 41-32 loss at home to Clayton Ridge Monday, December 19 before turning in a season-low offensive effort in falling to Waverly-Shell Rock, 53-19, Tuesday, December 20.

Holding a 2-6 season record, 1-3 in Northeast Iowa Conference play, the basketball Tribe will take a break from action until after the New Year. The Lady Indians will return to the court Tuesday, January 3 to host Decorah before playing back-to-back road games at MFL/MarMac and Charles City Thursday and Friday, January 5 and 6. Waukon will then play another back-to-back pair to open the next week, including at North Fayette Valley Monday, January 9 and at home against Prairie du Chien, WI Tuesday, January 10 before hosting New Hampton Friday, January 13.
