Waukon girls basketball team splits back-to-back nights of competition with 40-29 home win over South Winneshiek and 43-38 loss at Oelwein

A busy end to this past week for the Waukon girls basketball team ended up on each side of the win-loss column, as the Lady Indians split a pair of games on consecutive nights. The Indians were also supposed to make up a January 3 home game with Decorah Monday, January 16 but had that game postponed once again, now to February 4. The busy end to the week saw the Indians come away with a 40-29 home win over South Winneshiek Thursday, January 19 before falling at Oelwein Friday, January 20 by a 43-38 final result.

Holding a 6-8 season record, 2-5 in Northeast Iowa Conference play, the basketball Tribe was scheduled to make up a January 10 postponement at home with Prairie du Chien Monday, January 23 before hosting Class 3A fourth-rated Crestwood Tuesday, January 24 and then playing at Class 4A 11th-rated Waverly-Shell Rock Friday, January 27. The Indians will then host Spring Grove, MN Monday, January 30 before playing back-to-back nights at home, Friday, February 3 against Charles City and Saturday, February 4 against Decorah in that make-up game.
