Kee baseball team maintains unblemished UIC record with sweep of Ed-Co

The Kee baseball team ended up playing just one date on its schedule this past week, rainy weather claiming two other nights of competition. A Monday, June 12 doubleheader at MFL/MarMac and a Wednesday, June 14 single game at home against Clayton Ridge were both rained out, with the MFL/MarMac doubleheader being rescheduled to Friday, June 30 and the Clayton Ridge single varsity game likely not being rescheduled at this point. In between those two rained-out dates, the Hawks swept a home doubleheader from Edgewood-Colesburg rescheduled from May 30, posting victories of 3-2 and 10-0 in six innings Wednesday, June 13 over the team that had eliminated the Hawks from postseason play last season.

Improving to 12-4 overall and remaining undefeated in Upper Iowa Conference play at 8-0, the baseball Hawks were next scheduled to host Postville Monday, June 19 and Turkey Valley Thursday, June 22 before playing in the Jeff Houg Tournament in Waukon Saturday, June 24, opening the tournament at 10 a.m. against the host Indians. Kee will then host North Fayette Valley Monday, June 26 and Crestwood Thursday, June 29.
