Leon Clark

Leon Roy Clark went home to be with the Lord peacefully from his home in Hopkins, MN Monday, November 6, 2017 at age 78 after many successive complications as a result of a fall in 2011. Memorial service will be held Thursday, November 16 at 2 p.m. with visitation one hour prior to the service at Fourth Baptist Church, 900 Forestview Lane North in Plymouth, MN. Lunch will follow. Interment will be at 1 p.m. Friday, November 17 at Spring Valley Cemetery in Spring Valley, MN. Memorials may be given to donor's choice.

Leon was born August 27, 1939 to Ralph John Clark and Evelyn Lillian (Howe) Clark in Fillmore County in Minnesota on the farm where his parents lived at the end of the Great Depression. Leon attended country school during his early years and then graduated in 1957 from Chatfield High School in Chatfield, MN. From there he attended DeVry for two years in Chicago, IL.

After completing his education there he returned to Minnesota. For a time he worked with Leonard Gehrking in his television and radio shop. He worked as a technician at Honeywell for 33-plus years, retiring in 2002. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Helen; his sons, Troy and Terrell (Heather); three grandchildren, Elijah, Jenna and Allie Clark; three brothers, Marvin (Joyce) Clark, Wesley (Mary) Clark and Allan (Robin) Clark; a sister-in-law, Evelyn Clark; brothers-in-law, Herb (Nona) Bechtel and Randy (Sharon) Bechtel, a sister-in-law, Nancy Bechtel; and many nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death were his parents, Ralph and Evelyn Clark; and two brothers, Wayne and Vernon Clark.
