Wisconsin man arrested on multiple charges after fleeing on foot from traffic stop in Lansing

Sunday, January 7, the Lansing Police Department conducted a traffic stop on Front Street in Lansing involving a vehicle operated by Geramia Swadley of Soldiers Grove, WI. While the traffic stop was being conducted, Swadley and a female passenger fled on foot into a nearby residence. Swadley was later apprehended inside the residence, but the female is still at large. Anyone who may know the whereabouts of the female associated with Swadley in regard to this incident may contact the Lansing Police Department or the Allamakee County Sheriff’s Department

A search of the residence and vehicle ensued and during the search officers seized several items of drug paraphernalia, narcotics, weapons and other illegal contraband used in the manufacturing and distribution of illegal narcotics. As a result of the search, Geramia Michael Swadley, age 37, of Soldiers Grove, WI was arrested and charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Gathering where Controlled Substances Unlawfully Used, Burglary, Possession of Precursors, Felon in Possession of Dangerous Weapons and Interference with Official Acts.

The investigation is ongoing and other arrests and criminal charges are likely to be filed. A criminal charge is merely an accusation and defendants are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty in a court of law. The Lansing Police Department was assisted by the Allamakee County Sheriff’s Office and K9 Unit, the Iowa State Patrol and the Iowa Department of Natural Resources.
