The Veterans Memorial Hospital Monona Clinic has announced that Lori Vlazny, ARNP, Nurse Practitioner, is now full-time at the clinic. Vlazny has been working just one day a week at the new clinic since last winter, but will now be available full-time for appointments and walk-ins.

Vlazny received her RN degree from St. Luke’s and has 28 years of combined RN/OR manager experience. She joined her daughter, Krista Begalski, ARNP, the other nurse practitioner at the Monona Clinic, and went back to school to obtain her nurse practitioner degree a couple years ago, and they now work together at the Monona Clinic.

“After working 28 years in acute care, I felt there was a need for additional providers in this area. I am compassionate about meeting the healthcare needs of patients of all ages, making sure they get the care they need,” explains Vlazny. “Taking the time to listen to patient concerns and allowing them to participate in their health care decisions is crucial. Making sure the patient takes ownership and understands the plan impacts their wellness.”

“I have truly enjoyed caring for the patients that have trusted me in their care at the Monona Clinic,” adds Vlazny. “With my extended hours, I hope to meet the needs of many others who are willing to entrust their health care with the great staff at the VMH Monona Clinic.”

Vlazny and her husband, Joe, reside in rural Farmersburg and have four other children in addition to Krista, including Andrew, Kelsey, MacKenzie and MacKayla.
