Waukon girls golf team wins 18-hole triangular event at Crestwood

In its only competition of this past week, the Waukon girls golf team came out on top of a Northeast Iowa Conference triangular event that involved 18 holes of competition at Crestwood Monday, May 3. The Indians turned in a team total of 388 strokes, finishing well ahead of both the host Cadets and their 434, as well as Decorah’s team total of 487 strokes.

The golf Tribe is next scheduled to make up part of an earlier season postponement by hosting Charles City Monday, May 10 before playing in its Northeast Iowa Conference Tournament at New Hampton Thursday, May 13. The Lady Indians will then play in their Class 2A First Round Regional Tournament against seven other teams Monday, May 17 at Clermont, with details of those postseason possibilities included in the May 12, 2021 print edition and e-edition of The Standard.
