Summer Explorer Series to begin at Robey Memorial Library

Children and families are encouraged to participate in Robey Memorial Library’s program series, Summer Explorers, to be held every other Wednesday from June 2 through August 11 from 10:30-11:30 a.m. The schedule for this year’s program series is as follows, with participants advised to dress appropriately as some of the programs can be very hands-on:

• June 2 - Bugs, Insects & Itchy Things/Ross Geerdes, Naturalist (Allamakee County Conservation Board)
• June 16 - Soil Explorers/Sara Berges, Soil Conservationist (U.S. Department of Agriculture)
June 30 - Messy Art/Participants will move through multiple stations to create their own messy artwork and help the library create a colorful back drop for its summer bulletin board
• July 14 - Suncatchers/Make a unique, colorful suncatcher using Sharpies and alcohol
• July 28 - Paper Mache (Part 1 of 2)/Create a paper mache design of choice. The piece may be left at the library to dry and complete in Part 2 of the program
• August 11 - Paper Mache (Part 2 of 2)/Finish the July 28 paper mache creation with paint.
