The Kee girls and boys cross country teams had just one competition on their schedule again this past week, competing at the Waukon Invitational Tuesday, September 21. The Lady Hawks ran to a fourth-place team finish, while the Kee boys did not have enough runners to compile a team score.

The Kee girls’ fourth-place team finish was headlined by the overall runner-up finish of senior Haley Meyer in the 52-runner varsity field, coming in behind fellow Upper Iowa Conference senior Jalyssa Blazek’s inspired title run of 19:06.80. Meyer’s runner-up overall finish - the race’s top team-scored runner - in 20:01.70 paced the Lady Hawks to 109 team points and their fourth-place finish in the seven-team field.

The Hawks were next scheduled to compete in the Jesup Invitational Tuesday, September 28 before taking part in the Wartburg Invitational Saturday, October 2. Kee will then run at the South Winneshiek Invitational Tuesday, October 5.
