The Waukon boys cross country team nearly made it feel like home sweet home when the Indians hosted their own Waukon Invitational Tuesday, September 21. Topped only by Class 3A 11th-rated Decorah, the Indians ran to a second-place team finish in the eight-team field on their home course, joining the highly-regarded Vikings as the only teams to have all five of their scored runners in the meet’s top 20 individuals in the 57-runner varsity field, scoring 67 team points.

The Indians were next scheduled to compete at the Jesup Invitational Tuesday, September 28. The distance Tribe will then take part in the South Winneshiek Invitational Tuesday, October 5 and then compete in the Northeast Iowa Conference (NEIC) Meet October 12.
