Sharron (Reed) Kubitz

Sharron K. (Reed) Kubitz, 76, wife of Gary Kubitz, of Waukon passed away Monday, October 10, 2022 at Gundersen Palmer Hospital in West Union after a courageous battle with cancer. Graveside services were held Tuesday, October 18 at Oakland Cemetery in Waukon with Pastor Steve Oden officiating.

Sharron Kaye Kubitz was born May 28, 1946 in Kansas City, MO, the daughter of Lee Roy and Lucille (Dudley) Reed. She attended high school in Russellville, MO. August 21, 1976, Sharron married Gary Kubitz at the Little Brown Church in Nashua and they made their home in Waukon. She and Gary owned Something Old, Something New in Prairie du Chien, WI for several years; as a CMA, Sharron worked at the County Home outside of Waukon and she also worked at the True Value store. Besides spending time with family, Sharron was a very creative person and enjoyed antiquing, traveling, and going to flea markets and casinos. She had a bright and energetic personality and touched many lives with her generosity and passion for life.

She is survived by Gary, her husband of 46 years, of Waukon; her two daughters, Gena (Gabriel) Beer of Waukon and LeDonna Harris of Prairie du Chien, WI; four grandchildren, Loren (Jessie) Groves of Waukon, Jesse Colsch of Farmersburg, Nicole Benser of Waukon and Michael (Heidi) Reed of Decorah; five great-grandchildren, Loomis, Ava, Tristan, Olivia and McKenzie; two sisters, Debbie (David) Opel of California, MO and Denise Howard of Jefferson City, MO; two brothers, Jerry (Glenda) Reed of Westphalia, MO and Rick (Cherie) Lister of Jefferson City, MO; her sisters-in-law, Ruth Lister of St. Martins, MO and Karen
Lister of Mokane, MO; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Sharron was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, George and Bill Lister; and a sister, Pat (Frank) Baumhoer.

Casketbearers were Doug and Bruce Kubitz, Loren Groves, Michael Reed, Dave Miller and Steve Hager.
