Christmas Fantasy returns; Make reservations now for 31st annual event


31st Annual VMH Foundation Christmas Fantasy ... The theme of the 31st annual Veterans Memorial Hospital Health Care Foundation’s Christmas Fantasy is “Making the Future Bright” referring to everyone’s future following COVID-19 and the future of the hospital which is hoping to become county-owned to remain viable for many years to come. The Christmas Fantasy will be held November 11-14, at the Allamakee County Fairgrounds Pavilion. The Veterans Memorial Health Care Foundation Christmas Fantasy returns this year in its entirety. Reservations are being taken now for the Foundation’s 31st annual Christmas Fantasy which will be held Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday, November 11, 12, 13 and 14, at the Allamakee County Fairgrounds Pavilion. The theme will be “Making the Future Bright” which refers to everyone’s future following COVID-19 and the future of Veterans Memorial Hospital, which is hoping to become a county hospital and remain viable for many years to come.

All events are returning to this community-wide celebration for the first time in three years. Reservations are now being taken for the popular Saturday and Monday Noon luncheons and the Saturday evening Wine, Cheese and Dessert Event.

The luncheons are sponsored by the Allamakee County Cattlemen’s Association, and will be held Saturday, November 12, at Noon, and again Monday, November 14 at Noon. A full meal will be served plus entertainment will be provided at both events. All guests will have ample time to view all of the displays. Reservations can be made by calling 563-568-6262.

The Saturday evening Wine, Cheese and Dessert event will be held from 7-9 p.m. Saturday evening, November 12. This year the event will be sponsored by the Eagle’s Landing Winery of Marquette, the Empty Nest Winery of Waukon and Madigan’s Winery of Lansing. They will all be serving a variety of their finest wines and entertainment will be provided that evening. Those attending may decorate their own table and invite their own guests to enjoy this event or make a reservation for this event by calling 563-568-1046.

This year’s Christmas Fantasy event will have a huge number of decorated trees on display. Many items will also be available on silent auction for a great Christmas shopping opportunity. These items will include centerpieces, a wide variety of gift baskets, beautiful wreaths, swags, chairs, quilts, toys, mini-trees, crafted items, wall hangings and other decorative items.

The Friday evening “Tingle ‘N Mingle” happy hour will be held November 11, from 5-8 p.m. This annual Friday night happy hour event is a special opportunity to meet socially with friends and co-workers after work. Many tables of hearty hors d’oeuvres, plus desserts, candies and spirits will be served among the trees. Each ticket includes all of the delicious food plus two drink tickets. Tickets can be purchased now in advance at the main entrance of Veterans Memorial Hospital or at all local banks in Allamakee County. Tickets may also be purchased at the door.

Christmas Fantasy will be open to the public Saturday, November 12, from 2-5 p.m., Sunday, November 13, from 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and again Monday, November 14, from 2-7 p.m. Sunday’s event will be sponsored by Thrivent Financial and will also offer photos with Santa from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. by Katie Hennessey.

The “Making the Future Bright” Christmas Fantasy 2022 is planned and sponsored by the Veterans Memorial Health Care Foundation.
